Erosion
The water flow out of the course is estimated to be similar to that found near Mapua particularly after a spring tide. Hydrological effects will have to be assessed and modelled for engineering consideration during the detailed feasibility stage.
The plantings of trees to combat wind erosion will continue, replacing the pine forest with native plantings. Edges of the course will be landscaped with plantings and if necessary cobbled along the water line to reduce any effect from boat washes and any wave motion.
Erosion from sea level change due to global warming will also need to be assessed to determine what impacts this will have on the future of the Island and the course
